Creative Inspiration

We all have our moments... ones that lack creative inspiration. They can be really frustrating, whether we're writing, blog designing, or trying desperately to think of an out-of-the-box Christmas card idea. At times like these, we long for inspiration... an idea... something! But you see, inspiration is very tricky to come by. Sometimes it just comes out of nowhere and smacks you in the face leaving you in utter disbelief at the fact that you didn't think of 'whatever it is that you thought of' before. Other times, it comes to you slowly, bit by bit; and still other times, the doing of certain tasks is required before it can arrive.
I usually get my creative inspiration at night. I snuggle up under the covers and stare at the moonlight reflecting on the ceiling. Sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes hours, but eventually, ideas start to form in my mind. Most often they set the foundation for a blog design, and sometimes form a brand new twist to my novel's plot (which I am currently rewriting).
I also always get inspired to try out new photo techniques, just by looking at other people's photography. That's why I comment telling them they're 'inspiring'. :)

Where do you get your creative inspiration from?

  1. This is so true, I like you get my creative inspiration at night and it frustrates me so. I share a room with my brother and he finds light annoying when trying to sleep, I can't understand it. I agree it comes in different ways but mostly for me it hits me in the face and i have to quickly write it down for fear of forgetting it. oh and your photograph is beautiful

  2. My creative inspiration (most often for a new jewellery design) almost always come from nature. The way the branches hang down from a weeping birch, delicate wild rose blossoms, raindrops on the leaves.... the beauty of God's amazing creation fills my head with thousands of new ideas!

  3. I know exactly how you feel. Right now it's ten, and I'm typing away at the computer. I find myself there almost every night now. Cup of hot tea by my side and stories straight ahead. And the words come out easily.

Also, I know how you feel about comments, I feel so cliche, because I am always telling people they're pictures are so inspiring and they're probably think I'm just saying that. But I'm not. I mean it.

P.S. Your picture is really beautiful and inspiring ;) (i mean it).
