Remembering Spring Winners

The big day is finally here! If you haven't been checking back during the week to look at the poll results, then you probably can't wait to find out who the winners are! Why I am I even writing this? I know no one's going to read it, and if you are reading this right now, you've probably already scrolled down and checked out the winners. :P Anyways, no use in me rambling, let's get back on topic.
I am very pleased to announce that the winner of Remembering Spring, the person who took the amazing photo which got the highest number of voters is...

A Remedy...

I'm bored right now, but that's perfectly ok because I know of a certain boredom remedy. What is it you ask? Hmmmm... well it's a secret and I really shouldn't tell but if it helps you forgive me for leaving you, my lovely followers, postless for a whole entire week (except for one Tuesday's Tunes post which was... a day late) then... I guess I could tell you. The secret remedy is...

{a good long book + your favourite beverage x 2 (actually, the bigger the number the better :P) = contentment}

Trust me, this can cure most any sickness. It actually even works better than chicken soup, for me that is! Bored too? Go ahead and try it! I'll be posting my favourite beverage recipe later this week, so if you currently don't have one or perhaps have already gone to Starbucks this week more than was good for you, be sure to check it out.
Now, if you need me, I'll be stretched out on my bed reading. Hope the remedy works for you too! :)

Affectionately,

I wasn't even taking this shot for the sake of the shot. I needed the page number for reference. :P

As you can see, I was under the tree when I took this! :D

5. Always Look on the Bright Side
Brightness/Contrast Adjustment
You have no idea how difficult it was to take this shot! I took it yesterday while I was out in the front yard. It's been raining here quite often lately, so the grass was rather wet, and since I didn't want to get my pants dirty and since this flower was closer to the ground than I would've wanted, I had to get into the most uncomfortable position. I bent down really close to the ground, so that my knees were almost touching it, but not quite, and positioned my camera about 6 or 7 inches above the ground. Then I lowered my head to look through the viewfinder (painful!). Most awkward position you can get into (it looks worse than it sounds)! A little boy riding his bike paused to stare at me... and I don't blame him, I'm guessing I looked pretty ridiculous! :P :D But hey, looking at the bright side, I got this awesome shot!

Remembering Spring Finalists

First of all, thank-you so much for entering Remembering Spring everyone! Hosting this photo challenge was an amazing experience. I loved all your entries... and I'm sure my readers will too! :) So here are all the entries I got, in the order they were linked-up/e-mailed...

 Emily Grace of Emily Grace Photography

I love this shot! The focus, the background and the lighting are just perfect!

I'm not very good at low key, so I can't help but admire shots like this one!

 Butterfly Girl
{e-mailed}

Composition, angle, and dewdrops = amazing!

I love the focus on that single stamen!

Rachel Hope of Hope's Treasures

Don't you just love the focus!?

Wild roses... they never fail to capture the essence of spring.

Anne Therese of Creativity

When someone mentions spring, my first thought is always about lilacs. :)

The flowers up close and the road in the distance, I love that!

Sarah of This is My Father's World Photography

A tiny white flower... so simple, and yet so complicated.

You can actually see the tiny lilac blooms peeking out of this lilac bud! Amazing shot!

Katie Wilson of My Life Through the Canon Lens

Wow! The focus, composition, angle, colours, and pretty much everything else about this photo is totally amazing!

I love the lighting... a lot!

Brooke of Life Exposed Photography

I must have a print! This photo has the prettiest, most creative bokeh background that I've ever seen!

What can I say?! All of Brooke's photos are amazing! I highly encourage you to visit her blog!

Katie Josephine of Clair de Lune

I love the detail!

The vibrant yellow in this shot make it unique! Very pretty!

Again, many thanks to everyone who entered! :) The finalists were really hard for me to choose. After looking through all the entries thousands of times, I was finally able to narrow them down to five. And the finalists are... *drum roll please*

Unfocused Stage

SOOC Shot
Any unfocused/bokeh lovers out there? I know I'm one! Well I became one...

SOOC Shot
 I remember when I saw an unfocused photo on someone's blog, I think it was early this spring, and I stared at it and thought "What is that supposed to be?"

SOOC Shot
Lots of things have happened since then. One of them? I've started to appreciate unfocused and bokeh-only photos.

SOOC Shot
True, they are different, but that only adds to their beauty!

SOOC Shot
Not everything has to be perfect and focused...

SOOC Shot
...sometimes beauty lies where you least expect it.

SOOC Shot
And I think unfocused photography is one of those things which you learn to appreciate. At first it just makes no sense, but as you grow in your life as a photographer, you can't help but fall in love with it! :)

Autumn

SOOC Shot
{linking up the above to Kate's photo challenge}
When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,

SOOC Shot
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;

SOOC Shot
{linking up the above to the LEM photo challenge}
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;

SOOC Shot
{linking up the above to Emily's photo challenge, Jocee's photo challenge, and Ashlyn Nicole's photo challenge}
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.
