Iced Cream Coffee

How's everyone's November going? So far, mine has been great! This week I saw The Three Musketeers (Soundtrack. Is. Awesome.) with a friend, started reading The Hunger Games (It's really good so far!), and watched the first few episodes of Little Dorrit (Claire Foy is so sweet! I definitely want her acting as Tess in the upcoming Kingdom Series Movie!)... and yes, I also had an Iced Cream Coffee. I promised I'd post the recipe on here, so here it is... complete with photos too! :)

You will need...
1/2 cup cold coffee (if it's warm that's fine, just make sure it's not hot-hot)
2/3 cup milk
5-6 ice cubes
2 scoops vanilla ice-cream (I prefer using french vanilla, but that's just a personal preference ;)
blender

I measured out the coffee and milk using cups but then poured them both into glasses (because they're more photogenic :P)
This will make one serving, but take my advice and double all the ingredients! You'll be glad you did. ;)

Step 1: Put everything in blender

It should look something like this when you're done:

Step 2: Blend!

I turn the blender on ice crush for about thirty seconds and then use the normal setting for another thirty. When you're done you should have some foam on top:

Step 3: Pour and enjoy!

I like to spoon a little of the foam into my glass as well! :)

Well, there you go! It's that simple... and it tastes delicious! :) Hope you enjoy it!

P.S. How do you all like the new design? My blogoversary is coming up in 3 days, so I thought I'd freshen things up a bit! :) Be sure to grab my new blog button from the sidebar!

I Moved!

Just before you get any ideas, I'm going to say that this post has nothing, whatsoever, to do with my domain name!

Last Saturday was an adventure! Why? Because I moved from this room...

{Please pardon the photos, but you know how indoor lighting is. I had to adjust the brightness/contrast in this one, and I even adjusted the saturation in an attempt to eliminate some noise. Looks like the computer screen got the worst of it! Lol! :D}

...to this room...

At least that's what it looked like before I moved in. Here's what it looks like now:

Saturday night was the first night in one, two... about four years, which I actually spent in a room all by myself. Well you can go back farther than that, if you count those three years I had my beta fish. :P Anyway, having your own room is awesome! I no longer have to constantly pick up toys from the ground, and most importantly, I have all my favourite books in the room with me!
There is one little problem though, my bed is kind of uncomfortable. But I'll be getting a new (normal) bed soon, this one is actually a fold-out-bed-sofa thing, not sure what they're called. Also, we'll be putting two wall shelves on the wall above the bed, so I'll have plenty of space for more books! Yay!

So, what do you think of my new room? :)

What I've Been Doing...

A few minutes ago I was sitting in front of my computer thinking "Whatever should I post about?!" I went through tons of possibilities in my head, but none of then seemed right. And then suddenly I realized something: The posts I've enjoyed reading the most on other blogs were not necessarily long nor did they have a specific subject. The ones I remembered tended to ramble, and in the process, gave me a little peek at the daily life of the author. And that's what I'm going to do today, give you a glimpse of my life this past week... :)

On Monday evening I went on a walk along with my Canon, to try capturing the beauty of autumn. I like autumn better than fall. Autumn is more poetic, more worthy of being the word to describe this season full of numerous beautiful shades of yellow, orange, and red, while fall is... too normal and ordinary a word.
Anyway, as I was saying, I took a walk on Monday and got a few beautiful shots, here's one:

Slight Brightness/Contrast Adjustment
I haven't edited and/or added my watermark to any of the other ones yet, but be sure to keep an eye out for an autumn post over at my photography blog in the next few days! :)

On Tuesday I listened to Blackmore's Night's Beyond the Sunset album, which I LOVE, especially All Because of You, Spirit of the Sea, and Castles and Dreams, while I was doing math. You can listen to those below if you want:

All Because of You by Blackmore's Night

Spirit of the Sea by Blackmore's Night

Castles and Dreams by Blackmore's Night

Wednesday was pretty much normal, except for my change of music, I listened to Now We Are Free from Gladiator's Soundtrack over and over again, and I went to swimming lessons. I'm an incredibly slow swimmer. :P

On Thursday I delivered my papers, and finished reading A Tale of Two Castles by Gail Carson Levine. You can read my thoughts on it here.

Yesterday I started reading Forbidden by Ted Dekker and Tosca Lee. I'm currently on page 129, and I like it! :)

So, what did you do this week? :)

Yesterday was Somebody's Special Day! :)

Can you guess whose it was?!
It was... Boyan's birthday!
He turned two!
And he's the cutest little guy ever!
How time flies! I feel like only yesterday I was in the hospital, picking him up for the very first time!
He's been such a blessing these past two years...
...always has a smile to share!
And the cutest little facial expressions!

He's the cutest little brother anybody could ever ask for...

...and he makes me laugh all the time! :D

"Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them." ~ Psalms 127: 3-4

Happy Birthday, Bobbie! From the very bottom of my heart! :)

First Day of the School Year

September the 6th. It went by swiftly and smoothly for me. I still have a little video left to watch, but other than that, I'm done with schoolwork for today.

And honestly, it's really good to be doing schoolwork again! To have your planner pages all full with things to do! Sure, I'll miss summer, but in a way, I'm glad it's only a few months long.

There's something about those empty notebook pages that makes me want to pick up a pencil and fill them all with notes, math problems, and whatnot! Ever gotten that feeling before?

The thing I didn't like about today though, was that it was freezing cold! Believe it or not, but it's currently 13 degrees (celsius) out there. I'm wearing socks, sweatpants, and a sweater, and my nose still feels like an icicle. Fall certainly is picking up speed and it'll burst through our doors any minute now...

...with winter not far behind.

And yesterday, I even opened the door, and the air smelled like winter. You know that refreshing, icy cold scent that rides on breezes over freshly fallen, pure white, snow? That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Hmmm... You know, I think I'll stop talking about winter now, and enjoy those last few days of summer. Hope you do too! :)

For My Dad

"The righteous man walks in his integrity; and his children are blessed after him." ~ Proverbs 20:7

"As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him."
Psalm 103:13

Love you so much dad!!!

To Mom...

There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a mother's heart and a mother's faith
And a mother's steadfast love
Were all sent from God above.
~Author Unknown~

Mom, you colour my world, and I love you so very, very much!
