Look at me & you'll see a homeschooled girl of fifteen with light brown, slightly wavy hair, brown eyes, & a height of 5'6". Dig a little deeper, & you'll find that I tend to be introverted & best express myself in writing. Talking on the phone is really not my favourite, & I much prefer emails & face-to-face conversations. Walk into my room on a normal day & you will probably find me listening to my inspirational playlist of soundtracks by Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Harry Gregson-Williams, Christophe Beck, John Williams, & many more (just invite me over & I'd be more than happy to continue on with that list). I read a lot, & besides schoolbooks, you'll find that my bookshelves overflow with plenty of fantasy & adventure, as well as some regency romances. Baking is one of my favourite pastimes, because, as I recall a book character observing once, 'it helps you think'. L.M.Montgomery quotes are among some of the greatest I've ever read, & if I could write them all on my ceiling in blue paint -- I would. I like dreaming up sequels to books & making up stories in my head, & could very well spend hours on end doing just that. I'm fascinated by the ocean & I love that wonderful feeling you get when you look toward the horizon,
where sky meets sea. I dream of getting to explore an old castle someday & of living on the shores of a lake. I'm a photographer who loves capturing moments with her Canon 5d mkii & 50mm 1.4 & I'm looking at opening a photography business this year. Most of all though, I'm a daughter & servant of the King of kings, & everyday I strive to surrender a little bit more of my life to Him.
I'm an European at heart. I was born in a little town, established over nineteen-hundred years ago on the bank of the Danube River, in a country squished in by Greece & the Black Sea, known as Bulgaria. I moved to Ontario with my parents at age six, & had a bit of a hard time learning English. When I look back now though, I can't remember the exact process of how I learned it, what was going through my head the whole time. I know it seems kinda funny & weird, but I feel like one day I just woke up & just knew it. I've spent over half of my life in Canada & any accent I used to have has long since disappeared -- so I guess it kinda makes sense that I can't remember. In the eight years since 'the big move', I have acquired two siblings -- Christine, age six, & Boyan, age three -- & they are the cutest & sweetest ever! As of now, we all live in a little, or maybe not-so-little, country town in southern Ontario.
And so this is me, & this is my life & my story. Welcome to my world. I invite you to explore it, go on a hike & adventure on the hidden mountain trails with me. I hope you brought along a good pair of rubber boots because it is going to be messy at times, I can assure you of that... but then I also hope you brought along your camera, because there will be occasion enough to use it too.
If you're a dreamer, come along. I dare you.

What camera lenses do you have?
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! I shoot with the Canon 50mm 1.4 (which is amazing, by the way). Currently, it is the only lens I have that fits my full frame but I'm hoping to purchase another in the next year or so. :)
DeleteYou are adorable. And I'm pretty much in love with your blog.
